Windows Changes

HotKeys

Editor

A system for defining HotKeys (combinations of ALT, CTRL and/or SHIFT with one additional key) has been added to Synergy through a HotKey Editor.    HotKeys are used to quickly access often used functions in Synergy.    Pressing CTRL+H raises this editor.    The HotKey system uses the same copy/add button mechanism that is used in building Utility Kits.    The user only needs to supply a key combination to activate the button.

Changes

The Ctrl+Q immediate System Exit is replaced with Ctrl+Shift+Q to avoid accidental termination when using the Ctrl+W workspace switch.    The Ctrl+W can be used to switch between primary and secondary workspaces.

Utility Kit Icons

Utility kits now support bitmap button images.    Bitmaps are stored in native bmp format (as created by Paint ) or Xbitmap format.    The location of the bitmap file is stored in the third field of the button definition in the Utility Kit.    The Xwindows xpm color bitmap format is not supported.

Printing and Plotting

Clipboard Images

Synergy now uses the clipboard to print.    When a print operation is started, Synergy copies the graphics area to the clipboard and reverses black/white areas.    This allows the user to Paste images to other applications (i.e. Word or Paint).    A monochrome (black and white) transfer is available through a CTRL+M hotkey press.    The image stays in the clipboard even if the print operation is cancelled.
